Southside has been supporting mission work in The Philippines since 2004.  Our mission work includes:

  • Cebu Bible College – training Filipino evangelists, ministers and church planters
  • Church planting and evangelistic outreach campaigns in The Philippines
  • Nurturing ministers and churches in The Philippines through conferences & mission trips
  • Hope For Tomorrow – A children and family ministry in Cebu, Philippines

Cebu Bible College

Cebu Bible College has been training ministers and evangelists in The Philippines since 1988. The purpose of the school since its inception has been to instill within our students a vision and a passion for local, national and world evangelism. The goal of the school is to equip students to effectively communicate, minister and spread the Word of God in Southeast Asia through preaching, teaching, church planting, ministry leadership and life example. Cebu Bible College students, faculty and graduates minister and serve in most of the Churches of Christ in the Province of Cebu.

Church Planting

Southside’s Philippine Ministry Fund sponsors CBC Graduates to plant and nurture churches throughout Cebu. Since 2004, nine new churches have been planted by CBC students and faculty in cities and towns of the Province of Cebu. Each year, CBC hosts the Cebu Minister’s Conference to nurture these ministers and their new churches.

Hope for Tomorrow

In 2009, CBC graduate Gepher Lopina planted a new church in Naga, Cebu.  He immediately saw the need to minister to children who were not able to stay in school because of the poverty conditions of their families. He and his wife Andrea started Hope for Tomorrow seven years ago as a ministry of the Naga Church of Christ to give children in the church and in the community “Hope for a Better Future.” Today, HFT supports 35 children with education scholarships and ministers to more than 75 kids weekly.
